I bought my first Corvette in 1998. It was a 1995 coupe that eventually would go 225,000 miles. It took me to work and back each day and it took me, and others, to California three times, Florida and Key West, the Smoky Mountains and Chattanooga several times.
But on one trip, in 2001, to Tennesee it took me off-roading, for a litlle bit, in Indiana. Basically did a 180`in the rain, at about 70mph. We left the road going sideways and backwards wondering if air-bags work in reverse??? (they do not!)
Across a ditch and into a cornfield and then a fence. Fortunately no cows. (click any picture to enlarge)
I must have hit something with the lower door to knock a hole clean thru the fiber-glass. Mud and grass covered the entire car.
A lot of scraped painted and torn fiberglass and raw nerves but no blood!
Would you believe $5700 in damage. Next time I think I'm pulling over to change the CD!
