| Las Vegas, Nevada - March 2006 |
Barbara and I headed out from San Diego, across the high-desert towards Las Vegas. It's about a four hour trip and it was beautiful, though I-15 could use some work. |
We got to Vegas around 2pm and headed for our hotel. The Flamingo, in the middle of the strip. |
The original Flamingo was the first hotel built by Bugsy Siegal back in 1946. But the current one was built about 10 years ago. |
As soon as we got checked-in, we took a walk. Just down the street is the Venetian. |
Across the street from the Flamingo is Ceasers Palace. Next to Ceasers is Bellagio which has a fantastic fountain display. |
At night the Strip is spectacular. Barbara and I walked from our hotel all the way up to the new Wynn Hotel and the old Riviera Hotel. |
Treasure Island puts on a show each night with pirate ships and singers and dancers. |
And next door to that is the Mirage and their Volcano-fountain. |
Barb said goodbye to her money and we headed out of Vegas bound for Tennessee.
