| Texas / California / Tennesee Roadtrip - 2006 |
Barb and I traveled to Kim and Kirby's house in Georgetown, Texas to see them and Michael. |
They have a beautiful house near a lake. The neighbors have cows and a donkey. We went to dinner with Mike, it was really cold. |
We stayed the weekend and visited with Mike. We talked a good part of the evening and night. |
Mike took us down to see the Texas Museum in Austin just south of Georgetown . |
Mike was looking good and adjusting to being out of California. Like learning to scrape ice off his car! HA! |
Mike and Barb stopped talking for 10 seconds and I got this picture! |
On monday Barb and I headed down the road to San Antonio to see the Alamo. It was still cold and a little bit of rain. |
We stayed about 2 hours and then headed out of San Antonio. We made it about halfway to El Paso. |
West Texas. If you want to be alone, thats the place to go. |
In new Mexico it started to get warmer and Barbara started to smile... a little. |
Trains, trains and trains. Lots of trains across southern New Mexico and Arizona. My father would love this part of the trip. |
Huge piles of dirt. They call them Mountains! |
And big cactus near Yuma. Cool! It's getting warmer. |
2000 miles... and where do you suppose we ran out of gas? |
Then we saw huge piles of rocks. They call them mountains as well! |
The little piles of rocks they call rocks. |
Finally San Diego, and the Pacific Ocean. Barbara's first time there. She was thrilled! |
She jumped right in and grabbed a surfboard and off she went to hang-ten. |
Then over to Tommy and Lori's house in Oceanside. Barbara kept saying, Wow, California! |
A beautiful house in Oceanside, just north of San Diego. About 6 miles inland, I wasted no time getting shorts on. |
2500 miles! Time to relax. Have a Corona. |
